Kids Programs and Activities

Casey Cardinia Libraries offer fun for kids of all ages.  Come along to an event, borrow from our Libraries, find your next favourite book, learn fun facts, or play games.

Preschool

Baby Rhyme Time

Join other new mums, dads and carers, and share the joy of singing and reading to your baby. Discover songs and rhymes that babies love and learn about books your baby will enjoy.

Babies aged 0-12 months, weekly during school terms at these libraries:

Bunjil Place Library – Mondays & Wednesdays – 2.30pm to 3pm
Cranbourne Library – Tuesdays – 1.15pm to 1.45pm
Emerald Library – Wednesdays – 2pm to 2.30pm
Endeavour Hills Library – Wednesdays – 10.15am to 10.45am
Pakenham Library – Wednesdays – 10.30am to 11am

Tinies' Time

Babies and toddlers love books with textures and colour and being moved to the rhythm of stories, songs or rhymes. They love being close to you and other babies.

Babies and toddlers up to age 3, weekly during school terms.

10.30am to 11am & 11.30am to 12pm

Lego Club

The Lego Club is for children in Prep to Grade 6 – meet for free play or follow a theme and let your imagination run wild! Lego is supplied and there is no cost, although we welcome donations in Lego form.

No bookings required unless specified.

STEAM Club

Explore the exciting possibilities of S.T.E.A.M. activities including Lego, Art, Drama, Technology, Science and more at a weekly club.

During school terms only, no bookings required unless specified.

Doveton Library (Ages 5+) – Mondays (weekly) – 4pm to 4.45pm

Code Club

Discover amazing possibilities with the language that computers use at our weekly Code Clubs! Your first Code Club will introduce you to basic coding skills using the ‘Scratch’ language. As your skills develop you will start to work at your own pace and get creative with coding!

Ages 8-12.

Held weekly during school terms. Free but bookings essential.

School Holiday Program

We have stacks of events happening at our libraries during the school holidays and they are all FREE!

From magic shows to craft, Lego building to computer coding, there are events to suite all ages from toddlers to teens.

All School Holiday events require bookings, unless otherwise stated. Bookings open two weeks before school holidays.

To book into an event, visit our school holiday events. You can also book in person at your local library or by phone.

Online resources for children

Kanopy Kids – Stream movies, TV shows and even watch animated storytimes with Kanopy Kids.

BusyThings – Gain access to more than 700 award-winning educational games for children aged between 3 and 7 years.

Tumblebooks – An online collection of animated talking picture books and educational games.

Literacy Planet – An online English Literacy resource offering 11,000+ interactive exercises, activities and games.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

The challenge encourages children and students to read a set number of books over the year to help build the foundation for success in learning and life.

We have a Premiers’ Reading Challenge Collection to support our local schools who are taking part in the challenge. Reserve your books by following the links below
