Children's Book Week 2020

Join us for a fun week celebrating Children’s Book Week! Featuring an online Author talk, a design a Bookmark competition, STEAM club events, Book Reviews and Storytimes – there is something for everyone!

Winners for book of the year are announced at noon on Friday 16th October – don’t forget to reserve yourself a copy of these amazing books.

We’ll be running a range of events across Facebook, Zoom and YouTube for all the family to enjoy – check them out below!

Calling all Curious Creatures and Wild Minds. Time to let your creativity shine! To help us celebrate CBCA Book Week we are giving you the chance to have your design on our bookmarks. Dust off those pencils, pick up those paints and show us your artistic flair.  Click here to enter!

Come and celebrate Book Week with local author and illustrator, Andrew Plant in this online workshop! Andrew has been illustrating children’s books for years. Dinosaurs, bugs and quirky critters, he is no stranger to crafting “Curious Creatures”. Join him as he shares his new book Jump! and shows you how to draw crazy critters to put into your next story!  Ages 8-14. This is an online event and will be held on Zoom.

Have you ever wondered how a picture book gets made? Join us for some creativity as Sue shows us the steps to bringing a picture book to life! Sue is the author and illustrator of some of Australia’s favourite picture books including The Pro’s and Con’s of being a Frog and Missing Marvin. Her most recent book, We’re Stuck is shortlisted for the CBCA Picture Book of the Year 2020.
