The Local History Reference group meets quarterly and is comprised of delegates from the heritage groups in the Casey-Cardinia Region. Councillors represent the member Councils, and the Local History Librarian and Customer Services Manager represent Casey Cardinia Libraries.
This group serves as a forum for communicating developments in heritage work, both at a regional, state and national level and aims to promote the rich history of the region.

Beaconsfield Progress Association History Group
BPA is a voluntary organisation representing the interests of residents and businesses of Beaconsfield, liaising with Cardinia Shire Council, Commonwealth and State Governments and Non-Government bodies in regard to planning & community issues, events and amenities for Beaconsfield.
Berwick Mechanics’ Institute
This Institute, established in 1862, still operates as a lending library and also has a Heritage collection of nineteenth century books as well as a collection of books from the private library of Lord and Lady Casey. Lord Casey was the Governor General of Australia from 1965 to 1969.

Berwick Pakenham Historical Society
Established in 1961 as the Shire of Berwick Historical Society, this Society operates a Museum containing objects, photographs and documents about the Berwick and Pakenham districts. The Museum is located on the Princes Highway in the Old Shire of Berwick Offices at Pakenham (entry is from the service road from James Street) and is open to the public on Sunday afternoons 2.00 to 4.30.

Cranbourne Shire Historical Society

This group supports the discovery and sharing of the history of the Edrington Park estate in Berwick – a one time home of Lord and Lady Casey.

Koo Wee Rup Swamp Historical Society
The Koo Wee Rup Swamp Historical Society Museum contains objects, photographs and documents relating to the town and the surrounding Koo Wee Rup Swamp. The Museum is located at 325 Rossiter Road, corner Henry Street, in Koo Wee Rup. Opening hours are Sunday afternoons 1:30 to 4:30. Closed last 2 weeks of December and January. Lang Lang and District Historical Society
This group are responsible for a growing collection of documents and photographs relating to the history of Lang Lang and surrouding area. They operate a Museum in the old Infant Welfare Centre, Westernport Road, Lang Lang, which is open Sunday afternoons from 1.00 to 4.00.

Narre Warren Mechanics Institute
A Committee of Management oversees the use of this historic building, which continues its age old tradition of being a meeting space for the local community.
National Trust – Casey Cardinia Branch
The Casey-Cardinia Branch is the Trust’s voice in the region and has been active since 2002. The Branch works with council and the community on local heritage issues. New members are always welcome at any of the Branch’s meetings and events.
