Home Library Service
Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation provides free monthly deliveries
of library materials to members of the community who
have difficulty getting to their local public library.
Our Home Library Service Coordinator works with a group of
volunteers. We have arranged the service so that the same volunteers
deliver to
the same people each time. This way they get to know them and can offer
a friendly,
personalised service.
Are you eligible?
The Home Library Service can be provided to:
- Any person living in the
municipalities of Casey or Cardinia, who is temporarily or permanently
housebound, due to age, illness, injury or disablement and has no
reasonable alternative to home delivery of library materials.
- Nursing homes, hospitals and other institutions.
We cannot provide the service, except in special circumstances,
where there are other family members, living in the same household, who
are able to
collect library materials from the library on behalf of the housebound
resident.
Something to suit everybody!
Every effort is made to match library materials to people. We can
provide a wide range of books in large print, ordinary print or talking
books for those whose
eyesight might be failing. We also have a impressive selection of
Australian and overseas magazines.
Requests for particular items are welcome.

If you would like more information about our Home Library Service,
please contact the Home Library Service Coordinator at Pakenham library, or fill
out and submit this enquiry form.
If you would like to receive our home library service, a Library
staff member will arrange to visit you and discuss your eligibility,
reading interests and the level of service you need.
Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation will ensure that the
confidentiality of people receiving Home Library Service is maintained
at all times.
Become a volunteer!
The Home Library Service could not operate without the goodwill of
the
many community-spirited volunteers who generously
give their time each month, to choose
books and other materials from our libraries and deliver
them to our housebound library members. We don't overburden our
volunteers with too many people to visit or inconvenience them by
having to deliver outside their local area, so we are always looking
for new volunteers to share the load. If you or a friend would
like to become a Home Library Service volunteer, please fill in and
submit this volunteers form.
For more information, contact the Home Library Service coordinator
via email
or at Pakenham Library.
