Voices against Family Violence

Million StarsLook out for special displays at your local library during the Victoria Against Violence 16 Days of Activism campaign - Take Action and Go Orange running from 25 November to 10 December.

Casey Cardinia Libraries have been decked out with orange balloons and are featuring information displays on family violence and how to get help.  Children’s Storytimes will also offer gender neutral stories which will allow people to question traditional gender stereotypes.

CEO Chris Buckingham said: “In a region where family violence is far too high, we have a responsibility to make sure that people who are at risk feel safe in our libraries and can access support services”.

Over the next couple of months, we are implementing the State Government’s Child Safety Standards, which will also contribute to making Casey Cardinia Libraries safer for children and families.

You can join the 1 Million Stars Against Family Violence Campaign with us. Come to your library and learn how to weave a star in our efforts to produce thousands of paper stars for this special cause.  Parents welcome!
