New Axis 360 app for e-books

Axis 360 has released a new app for e-books today - Tuesday 8 September.

Changes include:

  • An update to the Axis Reader app for both Android and Apple devices – you will be prompted to update it
  • A new app for Windows computers – this can be used instead of Adobe Digital Editions – enabling Windows users to access the mainly Blio titles through Axis 360 – a Mac desktop app will be released in future
  • Once you log in to the app, your details are saved – you do not have to log in every time you use it - however, you can log out if you want to use another library’s Axis 360 content
  • Renewals will be possible through the website and coming soon for the apps
  • Once you borrow an item on the app, it begins to download straight away – no need to borrow and then download

For e-reader users, you will continue to access the website and use Adobe Digital Editions, however you can choose a shorter loan period if you wish - this will be in a future release for app users.

The content is the same and borrowing remains at 4 titles, for a maximum of two weeks.

We have updated help in the form of Frequently Asked Questions and Getting Started, both of which are available through our e-books page, and have added a link to their new Axis 360 help videos

We hope you enjoy the new improved experience with the updated Axis 360 app - but if you do have any problems, please contact your local library or use Contact Us on the library website.
