Genealogy

Researching your ancestry can sometimes feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The Library has a great range of genealogical resources to assist your research, including microfiche, CD-ROMS, books, magazines, free Internet use and the Casey-Cardinia Local History Archive, which is housed at the Narre Warren Library.

How to find the material you need

A wide variety of material is available either for loan, for access inside the library, or via the Internet.

You can use the catalogue to locate the items you need from the library's collection or you can ask our friendly staff for assistance. A comprehensive list of resources is contained in this page to help you with your search.

Assistance and access to the Local History Archive

The Casey-Cardinia Local History Archive is a treasure trove of community heritage with files on families, community buildings, historic homes and much, much more.
