The local history archive at Narre Warren Library exists for the benefit of districts within Casey-Cardinia. It was established in 1990 as a repository for the former City of Berwick. It has expanded to include the whole region and has files on families, community buildings, historic homes and more! The materical can be consulted by appointment with the Local History Officer. The collection includes maps, aerial photographs, newspaper clippings, local newspapers, and photographs. Archive material may be read in the adjoining local history room. Photocopying of most materials can be arranged. Local Historical Societies are also great sources ofCranbourne Gathering information. They have collections of objects and photographs that can be viewed for research.

The Local History Officer manages the collection and is available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm for advice about research, collection management, and historical inquiries. The officer works with local historical societies, the City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia. The officer also provides talks and displays.
