Ask a Local History Question
Our Local History Librarian maintains the Local History Archive at Narre Warren Library, supports local Heritage Groups and works with Councils to promote and preserve our history. For advice about research, collection management and historical inquiries, please use our Local History Enquiry Form or contact the Local History Librarian at Narre Warren Library on (03) 9704 7696 Our Local History blog entitled Links to our Past has many interesting articles about the history of the Casey and Cardinia regions. The Local History Archive itself was established in 1990 as a repository for the former City of Berwick. It has expanded to include the whole region and has files on families, community buildings, historic homes and more. The material can be consulted by appointment with the Local History Officer. The collection includes maps, aerial photographs, newspaper clippings, local newspapers, and photographs. Archive material may be read in the adjoining local history room. Photocopying of most materials can be arranged. |
