Returning material:
You can borrow or return material at any of
the Casey-Cardinia
Library Corporation service points. We also have after hours return
chutes at each library entrance so that you can return material (except
for CDs, CD-Roms or DVDs) at your leisure.
Renewing items:
If you want to keep a book or another item for a bit longer you can
always contact your nearest library to
renew your loan, as long as they
are not in
demand or overdue. Items can be renewed once only. Alternatively
you can also renew items online, via our online catalogue.
Reserving items:
We can reserve any item in the Casey-Cardinia Library collection
that you
want, whether it’s out on loan or at another service point. There is no
charge for this service. You will be notified by mail when it’s
ready
for you to collect. Holds can be placed in person or by phone to
your nearest library, or on the internet
via our online
catalogue.
Inter-library loans:
We can get items from other libraries for you if we don’t have a
copy ourselves, via inter-library loan. We only
pass on costs incurred - for instance, some academic libraries will
charge us and those fees will apply
to
your reservation but we will check with you first to see if that’s OK.
Membership and borrowing is free
But it’s important that items are returned to the library on time so
that other members are able to enjoy them. If you return your items
late an overdue fine of 10 cents per item per day will apply.
Accidents will happen
We know that sometimes things happen—like the dog eats the book or
it falls
in the bath while you’re having a snooze. Please tell us and we can
sort
the problem out with minimum hassles all round.
